First Specialized School for Dyslexia

Feller School builds a strong reading foundation to empower students with dyslexia. All students will learn to read and write, preparing them for future success. We are a non-profit, private school dedicated to providing our students with high-quality science-based reading instruction, raising public awareness about learning differences, and equipping educators with the tools and training they need to better serve the needs of all students.

Feller School educators specialize in making sure every student learns to read and excels in their areas of interest and strength. Students are led by a caring, happy, energetic, and talented group of educators who are masters at teaching children who have dyslexia and other language-based challenges.

Our content-based curriculum is rich in History, Social Studies, Math, and Science with Encore classes in Music, Art, Mindfulness and Movement.

In an effort to close the literacy gap in Dane County, we will work collaboratively with all schools to share our science-based approach to literacy instruction. Our Teacher Training Center schedule will offer various classes and workshops to educators interested in learning how to teach all of their students to read by 3rd grade. It will also provide opportunities for teachers to learn how to intervene instruction for older students (above 4th grade) who are struggling with learning to read. Teachers will learn how to identify symptoms of dyslexia as well as the brain research which explains how good readers are able to read proficiently. A special diagnosis is not needed to attend Feller School. Please reach out if your child is reading below grade level in First or Second Grade.
