Teacher Training: Are You Ready for a Change?
Thank you for your interest in our Feller School Science of Reading Teacher Training. We will cover:
- Transition from a Balanced Literacy to a Structured Literacy Classroom.
- Teach students to become decoders, not guessers.
- Bring new knowledge, materials, and experience back to your school.
- Minimal investment for a major impact on student achievement in the Fall.
In an effort to close the literacy gap in Dane County, we will work collaboratively with all schools to share our science-based approach to literacy instruction. Our Teacher Training offers various classes and workshops to educators interested in learning how to teach their students to read by Third Grade. It also provides opportunities for teachers to learn how to intervene instruction for older students (above Fourth Grade) who are struggling with learning to read. Teachers will learn how to identify symptoms of dyslexia as well as brain research which explains how good readers are able to read proficiently.
“This training was amazing…I can’t wait to share this knowledge with my kids right away….the passion and enthusiasm you have…I strongly hope we can get you to our school to ignite even a smidge of this passion to our teachers and parents.” -Cathy Wendt
“The training was great! I appreciate the variety you brought by mixing videos, lectures, and group activities. The actual hands-on practice was invaluable!” -Simone Frame
